The history of Otter Tail Country is fascinating. Did you know, the first explorers through this area in 1750 were a Frenchman and an Englishman? They met with a band of Native Americans on the shore of "Lac de la Queue de la Outer", which translates roughly to the Lake of the Otters Tail. This story and many others have been preserved at intriguing historic sites and museums throughout the county.
